Directions to Battery Park, New York City, NY (Manhattan):

Parking can be rather limited near Battery Park, but there are some private lots. We highly recommend using public transportation to visit the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island Immigration Museum if you choose to depart from New York City. Information on public transport to the statue ferry can be located on the MTA website.

By car:

• From Queens and Brooklyn: Take the BQE to Brooklyn Bridge, FDR South to Exit 1 toward Battery Park/ Staten Island
• From Manhattan and the Bronx: FDR or the West Side Highway to Battery Park. Parking garages are located on West Street and South Street.
• Once inside Battery Park, please follow signs for the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Castle Clinton. The boats depart from gangway 3. It’s a five minute walk from State Street.

By subway:

• 4 or 5 Lexington Avenue Line to Bowling Green
• 1 or 7th Avenue Line to South Ferry
• N/R to Whitehall St/ South Ferr

By bus:

• Purchase one of our Statue of Liberty tickets that is combined with a tour of New York City which drops you at the terminal
• Take the M15 (East Side) South Ferry, or M6 (West Side) from 57th Street.

Directions to Liberty State Park, New Jersey (The New Jersey Terminal Departure):

Parking is available at Liberty State Park for both cars and buses. The ticket office for the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island Immigration Museum ferry is located in the Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (CRRNJT).

By car:

• Take the NJ Turnpike, Exit 14B. After the toll, bear left and follow signs to Liberty State Park. Continue straight through the traffic light and make a left at the circle on Phillip Street. Make a right onto Audrey Zapp Drive and continue straight until you see the CRRNJ Terminal. There is parking on the right just before you arrive at the Terminal.

By boat:

• Take the Liberty Landing Ferry from Warren Street in Jersey City or Vesey Street in New York City to Liberty State Park.

By public transport:

• PATH train to Exchange Place
• NJ Transit Light Rail (Toward Bayonne) one stop to Essex Street Station
• Walk West on Essex Street toward Greene Street
• Take the third left onto Warren Street
• Walk 2 blocks to dock located at the end of Warren Street (Yellow and Blue Sign for Liberty Landing Ferry)
• Take the Liberty Landing Ferry to Liberty State Park
• Take a left off the dock and walk around the promenade to the CRRNJ Terminal (large brick building on your right)
